Distribution:
Nagkeshar is native to the tropical regions of South and Southeast Asia

Description:
Habit: An evergreen tree that can grow up to 30 to 45 meters tall. The trunk is often buttressed at the base with a scaly, ochrous-brown bark.
Leaves: Simple and lanceolate, measuring about 7-15 cm long. Mature leaves are dark green above and whitish-gray below. A distinct ornamental feature is its pendulous new
growth, which emerges as a striking reddish-pink flush before turning yellowish-green.
Flowers: Large, bisexual, and intensely fragrant. They feature four delicate, wavy white petals and a dense, glowing center of numerous yellow stamens.
Fruit & Seeds: The fruit is a woody, ovoid capsule (often beaked) containing 1 to 4 dark brown seeds with a fleshy cotyledon
Uses:
1. Bleeding & Inflammation: Often used to arrest bleeding (e.g. hemorrhoids or
heavy menstruation) and to reduce inflammation.
2. Skin Ailments: Seed oil is applied topically to treat wounds, scabies, sores, and
rheumatic pain.
3. Respiratory & Digestive: Dried flowers are prescribed to relieve coughs, colds, and bronchitis, while roots and bark act as a bitter tonic for digestive issues.
